Religion in the Lives of Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Young People
Findings of an Empirical Study

Germany has seen an increase in poverty and social marginalisation affecting children and youth, and to date we know little about the impact this experience may have on their religious identity. This article presents findings of an empirical study on the role of religion in the lives of socially and economically disadvantaged young people in Hamburg, Germany. It aims to establish the importance of social context for individual forms of religiosity of young people.
