The basic intention of the international educational network PILGRIM is to link the topic of sustainability with the ethical-philosophical-religious educational dimension. The trigger of this movement is the integration into the global actions towards the environment, as formulated in the UN climate conferences. The research project from 2003 became a worldwide movement that goes beyond the school area. The ethical-spiritual implications are also relevant in the economic area because they offer people the opportunity to work and to realize themselves. The spiritual aspect at PILGRIM aims at the image of man, which is expressed in the name and functions as a program. Human beings should be aware of the fact that they move as such as guests on earth. Following this awareness, it is about the realization that behavior change is possible when a new relationship with the world is gained. Mindfulness has a special position as a value because it encourages people to perceive reality in all its complexity.
