Abstract

Religious Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is not to be focused on single ecological issues like climate change. It must rather consider ecological crises as part of a multiple crisis. The present article inquires what subject-specific contribution religious ESD can offer to overcome this crisis. For this purpose, central theological themes such as alterity, time and human are inquired regarding their religious pedagogical relevance and fields of tension of a politically oriented religious ESD are acquired.
