How do different disciplines use biographies in the classroom? In the discipline of religious education, biographies mainly contribute to the development of one’s own concept of life. Students engage with challenges, values, hopes, and ideals in others’ biographies, which can also be relevant for themselves. But how do other disciplines employ biographies: What role do biographies play in the fields of German, history, art, and mathematics education? What are similarities, what are field-specific approaches? And what can the discipline of religious education learn from other disciplines?
