Abstract

The significance of subject-specific education in the educational process has not been distinctly clarified yet. At the Freiburg Advanced Center of Education (FACE) teaching projects which focus on profession orientation (in university) in content knowledge are currently being designed in the domains of German studies, Romance studies and theology. Profession orientation (in university) in content knowledge aims at the development of content knowledge that is structurally oriented towards later professional activity. This article elaborates the contribution of profession orientation (in university) in content knowledge to the concept of subject-specific education.
