Abstract

In terms of Education (Bildung) expertise in differentiation and distinction can be understood as an ability to deal adequately with several modes of understanding the world. These different modes of understanding the world represent the basic structure of modern general education. Religious Education and its didactics that are rooted in a theory of education based on enlightenment (Bildung) relate necessarily to this structure of general education. Dealing with different modes of understanding the world should not work by personal choice but as a solid process of proper judgement.
