Interreligious Learning in encounter (IRBL) through cooperation between the subjects of the theologies (or confession-oriented subjects of religious education) and philosophy/ethics in school and university is carried out in school projects in the Heidelberg region and in Vienna and has been offered as an additional qualification in teacher training since 2007/08 at KPH Vienna/Krems and since 2011 at the University of Education in Heidelberg. This article provides an orientation on the educational conceptual framework and challenges of cooperation between the school subjects of religion and ethics and specifically on the organization and topics of the IRBL against the background of practiced and evaluated projects in schools and universities.
