As a topic with consequences for society as a whole, both now and in the future, the climate crisis is a problem that urgently needs to be addressed. In this context, sustainability is one of the central categories in the discourse and education for sustainable development is a cross-cutting task for all school subjects in the context of school education as well as a challenge in religious education. Religious education can also make a contribution to this task which goes beyond the ecological dimensions of the catchword "preservation of creation" and encourages and enables pupils to adopt a sustainable lifestyle.
