With the example of children books on world religions the article criticizes the world religion paradigm, offers suggestions for its deconstructive understanding and teaching of religious pluralism from a recent debate in the study of religion and considers reasons for this anachronism. Apparently, religious studies didactics and religious education on interreligiosity have some things in common through the influence of N. Smart and W.C. Smith. On this basis, the similarly postcolonial but still disciplinary different perspectives might engage into a fruitful discussion.
