Abstract

The determination of the relationship between the two disciplines assumes that different research methods and content-related responsibilities of dogmatics and religious education represent a theologically meaningful division of labor. On this basis, a plea for cooperation on an equal footing is issued. The clarification specifies and concretizes the contribution of dogmatics to,  and its relevance for religious education, with the aim of establishing a so called theology of religious education. In this way, Martin Rothgangel's thesis of systematics as a "sub-discipline of theology" is taken up, further developed and modified.
