Abstract

The master's thesis Youth – Rap – God aims to outline a postmodern, pop-cultural, innovative synthesis for religious education at upper secondary level, which is primarily characterized by the combination of the topic of God, the rap genre and the youth theology concept. Applying the method of hermeneutic literature work, the master's thesis deals with the theoretical basics of the aspects of God, rap and youth theology. This finally makes it possible to empirically analyze selected German-language rap tracks of the 21st century with regard to the religious motives that exist in them, as well as depict exemplary lesson plans.
