Abstract

In recent years, the number of schoolbooks and workbooks for Islamic religious instruction has risen significantly in the German-speaking world. Most of these works were published by university professors of Islamic religious education or teacher training college instructors. This means that their contents are to be understood as the direct results of current theological reflections and those linked to the philosophy of science and religious education. The present article discusses the potential and further development and future challenges of school book development within Islamic religious education in the German-speaking world.
