In the sub-project “Conception and implementation of interreligious lesson components” – within the framework of Graz project “Integration through interreligious education” teaching-learning settings are being analyzed and interpreted by using methods of empirical teaching research and by implementing group discussions with teachers, as well as students.
On the one hand, the gained experience had impact on the continuous process of the project. On the other hand, they have a theory generating effect on developmental research in context of interreligious teaching methodology. Previously, temporary interreligious teaching sessions with Christian-Islamic team-teaching was attempted at exemplary school locations.
The following article is based on two group discussions with Catholic and Muslim students within different school types that were being implemented during the joint interreligious teaching sessions.
The specific research question of this article is as follows: What are the subjective perceptions of the questioned students with regard to the specific classroom settings – especially in relation to classically structured settings in confessionally divided learner groups. Moreover, which cautious conclusions are being drawn from the development of interreligious teaching-learning processes within an interreligious teaching methodology?
